Welcome to Balius. Please read this Shipping Policy carefully. It explains how we process, deliver, and handle all orders placed on balius.co.za.
1. Order Processing
- Once you place an order, please allow 1–2 business days for us to process and prepare it for dispatch (excluding weekends and public holidays).
- If there is any delay (e.g. stock issues, supplier delays), we will notify you by email or phone with an estimated dispatch date.
- Orders placed after our daily cutoff time [2 pm] may be processed the next business day.
2. Shipping Regions & Carriers
- We ship nationwide within South Africa (excluding remote or restricted areas where courier access is limited).
- We use reliable third-party courier services (e.g. The Courier Guy, Dawn Wing, etc.).
- We do not deliver to PO Boxes — please provide a physical address for delivery.
- For certain remote, rural, or high-risk areas, additional shipping surcharges or longer delivery times may apply. We will inform you if this is the case before dispatch.
3. Shipping Rates & Free Delivery
- Shipping cost is calculated at checkout based on the weight, dimensions, and destination of your order.
- Free delivery option (if applicable) may apply when your order meets a minimum value threshold.
- For orders under the free-shipping threshold (or when free shipping is unavailable), standard shipping fees will apply.
- If special or expedited shipping is requested, extra charges may apply.
4. Estimated Delivery Times

*These are estimates only. During peak periods or due to unforeseen delays (e.g. weather, public holidays, courier issues), delivery may take longer.
5. Shipment Confirmation & Tracking
- Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email confirmation including a tracking number and courier name.
- The tracking number will generally become active within 24 hours of dispatch.
- You can use the tracking number on the courier’s website to monitor delivery progress.
6. Customs, Duties & Taxes (For International Orders, if applicable)
- Currently, Balius ships only within South Africa.
- If in the future you expand to international shipping, the recipient will be responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or import fees imposed by the destination country.
- Balius is not liable for delays caused by customs inspections or border processing.
7. Damaged, Lost or Missing Packages
- Upon delivery, please inspect your package. If it appears damaged, refuse delivery and immediately contact us at [contact email/phone].
- If you receive a damaged item, please take photos of the package, contents, and damage, and send them to us within 48 hours of delivery.
- If a package is lost or not delivered within the estimated timeframe, please contact us so we can open an investigation with the courier.
- In case of proven courier error, we will arrange for a replacement or refund.
8. Changes & Cancellation
- You may request changes to your shipping address or cancel your order before it has been dispatched. Please contact us as soon as possible at info@balius.co.za.
- Once the order is in transit, changes or cancellations may not be possible.
9. Returns & Refunds
- Returns and refund policy is handled in our separate Returns & Refunds page.
- If returning a product, ensure items are unused, in original condition, and returned within the allowed return period.
- Customers are generally responsible for return shipping cost (unless the return is due to our error or a defective item).
